In this introductory episode, I talk about the show and what you can expect from it, and then spend some time talking about why people typically get involved in the hobby of drinking whiskey. If you're new to whiskey and curious as to why people like it so much, this is for you! If you've been a whiskey lover for a long time and just want to know what this podcast is all about, then this is for you, too!

In this episode, my guest, Justin, learns how to drink whiskey without it burning. This is my favorite tip for people who are trying to acquire the taste of whiskey, so I wanted to walk through it in an episode. Throughout the process, Justin asks many questions that beginners often have about the hobby. In the end, we both go through a review of Rebel Bourbon (AKA Rebel Yell Bourbon).

In this episode, I go through the process that I personally use to taste whiskey. This is the best way that I have found to review a glass of your favorite Bourbon, Scotch, or other whiskey. I also run through some tips and tricks that have helped me pull out more flavors and improve my ability to review whiskey. There are some tips in here that I think even the more experienced whiskey drinkers find helpful, so be sure to listen!

In this review episode, I show my guest, Bryce, one of my favorite tricks for learning how to taste whiskey. We take two different whiskeys and compare them, to see just how large of a range of flavors whiskey can have. Finally, we review both the Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey and the Russell's Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. This episode is great for beginners and experienced drinkers alike. Even multiple years into the hobby, I still use this tip often.

How is whiskey made? In this episode, I briefly go over the main types of whiskey (Bourbon, Scotch, Irish Whiskey, Rye Whiskey, and others), which will each be covered in their own upcoming episodes. Then, I walk through the major parts of the distillation process, and discuss the elements that typically have the most impact on a whiskey's flavor.  

In this episode, my guest, Zack, and I go through the practice of using flavor note lists/wheels to help improve our reviewing skills. We do a full review, and I walk through the elements of a good beginner bourbon. Finally, we round it out with a quick "Dr. Pepper Tasting" and discuss their thoughts on drinking Buffalo Trace as beginners.

In this episode, I discuss all things scotch whisky. The regions of Scotland, the flavor notes that you can expect from scotch, why it isn't spelled whiskey, and what is necessary to be considered a Scotch whisky.
